Infrared

Getting Started
Infrared is a wireless technology that allows 911SH to
communicate with other 911SH or with other compatible
devices (PCs, mobile phones, etc.). In this chapter, "files"
refers collectively to the following: Bookmarks, Tasks, Text
Templates, Phone Book and Calendar entries; Messaging
and Data Folder files.
^ 911SH comply with IrMC 1.1, but some files may not be
exchanged.
^ Infrared transfers are disabled while sending/receiving mail or
using the Internet.

^ Transfers in direct sunlight, under fluorescent lighting or near
infrared equipment may fail.

When transfer fails, Device not found. Reconnect?
appears. Take the precautions below then choose Yes
and press b to try again.
C Authorisation Codes (four digits) are specific for infrared
transfers. All File Transfers are possible when Authorisation
Codes of both devices match.
Precautions
^ Align Infrared Ports within 20 centimetres with no obstructions
between handsets.

^ Keep Infrared Ports aligned during transfer.
^ Dust/oil may impair file transfers; clean Infrared Ports with a
soft cloth beforehand.

Transferring Files via Infrared

Transfer Options
Transfer files one at a time. Received files
One File Transfer
are saved to corresponding functions.
All File Transfer
Transfer all files by function
Receive a folder and its contents. Folders are
Receive Folder
saved to Data Folder. (Handset does not
support sending folders.)
High-Speed
Transfer JPEG files one at a time from Data
Infrared
Folder (Pictures or DCIM). Received files are
(see P.11-12)
saved to Pictures folder.
