REAR BRAKE PEDAL FREE PLAY ADJUSTMENT
Before starting braking action, the rear brake control
pedal (1) must have free play (B) of 5-10 mm (0.196
- 0.39 in).
Should this not happen, operate as follows:
- Loosen the nut (2);
- Operate the master cylinder linkage (3) to increase or
decrease free play;
- tighten nut (2) at the end of the operation.
WARNING*:
When the free play requirement is not
met, the brake pads will be subjected
to an early wear that may lead to TOTAL
BRAKE INEFFECTIVENESS.

REAR BRAKE FLUID LEVEL CHECK

The fluid level in the master cylinder tank shall never be
below the minimum level (1) shown on the transparent
reservoir (2).
A decrease in the fluid level will let air into the system
and increase the lever stroke.
3
WARNING*:
If the brake pedal feels mushy when
pulled, there may be air in the brake
lines or the brake may be defective.
Since it is dangerous to operate the mo-
torcycle under such conditions, have the
2
brake system immediately checked by
the Husqvarna Dealer.
CAUTION*:
Do not spill brake fluid onto any painted
surface or light lens.
CAUTION*:
Do not mix two brands of fluid. Com-
pletely change the brake fluid in the
1
brake system if you wish to switch to
another fluid brand.
B
CAUTION*:
Brake fluid may cause irritation. Avoid
contact with skin or eyes. In case of con-
tact, flush thoroughly with water and call
a doctor if your eyes were exposed.
