Rear brake pedal free play adjustment

Before staring the braking action, rear brake pedal (1) shall have a free play
(B) of 5-10 mm (0,196 ÷ 0,39 in.). Should this not happen, operate as follows:

Rear brake fluid level check

The fluid level in the master cylinder tank shall never be below the minimum
level (1) shown on the transparent reservoir (2).
A decrease in the fluid level will let air into the system and increase the lever
stroke.

Loosen the nut (2);
Operate the master cylinder linkage (3) to increase or decrease free play;
Tighten the nut (2) at the end of the operation.
When the free play requirement is not met, the brake pads will be
subjected to an early wear that may lead to TOTAL BRAKE INEF-
FECTIVENESS.
If the brake pedal feels mushy when pulled, there may be air in the
brake line or the brake may be defective. CHECK THE BRAKING
SYSTEM (see Section L).
If the brake pedal feels mushy when pulled, there may be air in the
brake lines or the brake may be defective.
Do not spill brake fluid onto any painted surface or light lens.
Do not mix two brands of fluid. Completely change the brake fluid
in the brake system if you wish to switch to another fluid brand.
Brake fluid may cause irritation. Avoid contact with skin or eyes.
In case of contact, flush thoroughly with water and call a doctor if
your eyes were exposed.
