LEVER POSITION ADJUSTMENT

NEUTRAL ADJUSTMENT
(FIG. 8)
1.
Block the rear wheels off the ground.
2.
Depress the brake pedal (item
6-20), and keep
it depressed during adjustment.
3.
Loosen the set screw
(6-1 1). Start the engine
and run it at half
throttle.
4.
Adjust the eccentric
(6-09) until true neutral
is
reached.
Check
this by making certain the tires have
stopped rotating. Be sure to
check
both
tires.
This
usually occurs at a point midway
between forward
and backward wheel
rotation.
5.
Retighten the
set screw.
If
the speed control lever
does not return ro the
neutral (center) position when
the brake pedal.

1. Remove
the top cotter pin retaining
the shift

Rotate the shift rod (checking periodically) until
the speed

is centered when the
brake pedal is depressed.
