BIOS Rewrite Procedures

This appendix explains how to rewrite the system BIOS program when updating the BIOS on the
T4500/T4600 Family computer.
Tools
To rewrite the BIOS, the following tool is required:
BIOS rewrite disk for T4500/T4500C or T4600/T4600C
(May also be found on Toshiba's BBS)
Rewriting the BIOS
Follow the procedures below to start the BIOS rewrite program.
1.
Set the system to Boot Mode.
2.
Turn off the power to the computer.
3.
Remove any PCMCIA card(s) and all external cables (except AC adapter).
Turn on the power while holding down the F12 key (keep holding down the key until

the system speaker sounds a beep).
5.
When the BIOS update message is displayed, insert the BIOS rewrite disk into the
FDD. Press the Enter key to start the BIOS rewrite program.
6.
When the process is completed, eject the rewrite disk and press the reset switch to
restart the system.
