Whether or not you need to configure the T4500/T4600 Family with these options depends
primarily on the kind of software or peripherals you use.
Resume Mode
This option enables and disables the AutoResume feature. You can also set this option using
the hot keys. Disabling AutoResume enables Boot mode.
NOTE: Resume mode works only with Toshiba's versions of MS-DOS, Windows 3.x and
Toshiba MS OS/2. For more information on Resume and the installation of the proper
resume drivers, refer to "Resume Mode Restrictions" in chapter 2 of the T4500 Series or
T4600 Series Reference Manual.
CPU Cache
This option enables and disables the CPU cache.
Disable
Speaker Volume
This option sets software use of the system speaker. Setting this option to off disables the
self-test alarm. All other system alarms are unaffected. This option also appears in the Hot
Key. The default is High.
System Speaker
This option enables or disables the system speaker.
Disable
Low Battery Alarm
This option enables or disables the alarm when the capacity of the battery is low.
Turns off AutoResume. This is the default setting.
Boot
Turns on the AutoResume feature.
Resume
Enables the CPU cache. This is the default setting.
Enable
Disables the CPU cache.
Disables software use of the system speaker.
Off
Enables and sets the level of the speaker. The default is
High/
High.
When you enable the speaker, a submenu allows you to set

the following options: System Speaker, Low Battery Alarm,
Low
and Panel Close Alarm.
Enables the system speaker. (This is the default.)
Enable
Disables the system speaker.
Enables the battery alarm when the capacity of the battery is

low. This is the default setting.
