Removing the Hard Disk Drive • Speaker/Ball-Point Mouse Connector
To remove the T4500/T4600 Family's hard disk drive and the flexible cable connecting the speak-
er/ball-point mouse connector, follow the steps below and refer to Figures 4-14 through 4-16.
1. Turn off the power to the computer; disconnect the AC adapter, power cord and all external
cables connected to it.
2. Remove the battery pack, optional memory card, optional PCMCIA card, top cover, key-
board and status indicator panel as described in Sections 4.2 through 4.7.
3. Remove the two M2x3 black screws securing the protective metal plate to the FDD, two
M2.5x6 screws securing the plate to the HDD, and the eight M2.5x6 screws and one
M2.5x10 screw along the plate's rim securing the plate, left hold plate, and ground cables
to the computer (Figure 4-14).
4. Lift off the protective metal plate.
