Parallel Port (T4600/C only)
Use this option to assign the function of the parallel port on the T4600 or T4600C. This is
the only set of parallel port settings when not connected to a Desk Station.
Printer Port Type
This option sets the communication mode for the PRT/FDD port to either output-only or bi-
directional. For the T4500 Series, it is effective only when the External PRT/FDD option is
set to "Printer." If either FDD A or FDD B is selected, this setting is ignored and the
mode is automatically set to bi-directional.
When the T4600 Series is connected to a Desk Station, the Printer Port Type setting is
independent of the External FDD setting since there are two parallel ports; one for the
printer (or other parallel device) and one for an external FDD.
For most printers, the port should be set to output. With some other parallel devices, the
setting should be set to bi-directional.
