Connecting an Expansion Unit
An optional expansion unit can be connected with the main unit if there are more PCs or tele-
phones to connect to the DCS-VIP than the main unit can handle. The expansion unit provides a
further two ISDN circuits and a further 10 voice ports.
Caution
When installing a DCS-VIP expansion unit, it should be installed BELOW the main
router unit.
Two cables are supplied to connect an expansion unit:
A short hub cable which connects an Ethernet port on the rear of the DCS-VIP to an

Ethernet port on the rear of the expansion unit.
A power and data cable which connects both units via the multiway expansion connectors.
