Installing a drive in bay 5, 6, or 7
Before you begin
For information on installing SCSI drives, see the SCSI information
provided on the Software Selections CD that comes with your
computer.
Read "Preparing to install options" on page 62.
Turn off the computer and all other attached devices.
Disconnect all external cables and power cords, and then remove
the computer cover (see "Disconnecting cables and removing the
cover" on page 64).
Read the documentation that comes with the drive.
To install a SCSI drive in a model that has IDE drives only, you
must purchase an internal SCSI cable. See your IBM reseller or
IBM marketing representative.
Read "Installing internal drives" on page 81.
