iNSPECTiON
1. Check:
INSPECTION
• Carburetor

1. Stop the engine,
Damage/Cracks _ Replace.
• Reed valve
2. Remove:
Wear/Cracks/Damage-._ Replace.
Refer to "COVERS" in CHAPTER 3.
Reed valve inspection
steps:
Visually inspect the reed valve.
NOTE:
3. Check:
A reed valve in good condition should be corn-

pletely or at least nearly flush with the valve seat.
Fuel cock inspection
steps:
If in doubt, apply suction to the carburetor
Disconnect the fuel hose (_.

Place a receptacle under the fuel hose end.
Leakage should be minimal to moderate.
If fuel stops flowing within a few seconds, the
