MDC 1200 SYSTEM OPERATION

D PTTID Calls
The transcever can send an MDC 1200 system sgnal that
ncludes PTTID when [PTT] s pushed (begnnng of trans-
msson) and released (end of transmsson). If a PTTID call
s receved, the transcever wll dsplay the callng staton ID
(or alas) and emt a beep*.
*Depends on the settng.
D Transmitting an Emergency Call
When [Emergency] (descrbed n the nstructon manual)
s pushed and held for the specfied tme perod, the emer-
gency sgnal (MDC 1200 system command) s transmtted
once or repeatedly on the emergency channel. A repeat
emergency sgnal s automatcally transmtted untl t receves
the acknowledgement sgnal. When no emergency channel s
specfied, the sgnal s transmtted on the prevously selected
channel.
If you want to cancel the emergency call, push and hold the
key agan before transmttng the call.
The emergency call can be transmtted wthout a beep ems-
son, and the LCD ndcaton dependng on the pre-settng.
The transcever can also be programmed to keep the mcro-
phone open durng an emergency call, allowng montorng of
the stuaton.
IMPORTANT: It s recommended to set an emergency
channel ndvdually to provde the certan emergency call
operaton.

■ Man Down Emergency Call

Ths functon requres the optonal UT-124R
and can be performed n conventonal mode.
The man down emergency call functon transmts the emer-
gency sgnal (MDC 1200 system command) automatcally
when the transcever has been left n a horzontal poston for
the specfied tme perod.
After the emergency call, the transcever performs transms-
son and recepton alternately wth recevng a sgnal and
emttng audo.
When the emergency reset sgnal s receved, the functon s
cancelled.
■ Status message transmission
The status message can be transmtted automatcally when;
• The transcever s turned ON.
- Set the status message to be transmtted n the 'Power ON
Status' tem.
• After sendng an Emergency call wth Man Down.
- Set the desred status message to be transmtted n the 'Man
Down Status Send' tem.
