Selection
This feature is available when the transmitting/receiving fax machines are ECM
compatible.
M0N "OFF": Deactivates this feature.
M1N "ON" (default): If there is an error during fax transmission/reception, the unit
will support the communication.
Note:
R You cannot change the setting when received documents are in memory.
The recall/flash time depends on your telephone exchange or host PBX.
M1N "900msec.", M2N "700msec.", M3N "600msec.", M4N "400msec.", M5N
"300msec.", M6N "250msec.", M7N "200msec.", M8N "160msec.", M9N
"110msec.", MGN "100msec." (default), M0N "90msec.", MBN "80msec."
Note:
R If the unit is connected via a PBX, this setting may need to be changed in
order for PBX functions (transferring a call, etc.) to work correctly. Consult
your PBX supplier for the correct setting.
M1N "TEL" (default): Telephone mode (page 33)
M2N "TEL/FAX": Telephone/Fax mode (page 33)
If you often have trouble when sending faxes, this feature allows you to hear
connecting tones: fax tone, ring back tone and busy tone. You can use those
tones to confirm the status of the other party's machine.
M0N "OFF": Deactivates this feature.
M1N "ON" (default): You will hear connecting tones.
Note:
R If the ring back tone continues, the other party's machine may not be a fax
machine or may have run out of paper. Check with the other party.
R The connecting tone volume cannot be adjusted.
M1N "TAM/FAX" (default): Telephone Answering Machine/Fax mode (page 34)
M2N "FAX ONLY": Fax only mode (page 35)
If you use an extension telephone when this unit is in TEL/FAX mode, select
the desired number of times the extension telephone rings before the unit
answers the call.
