2. Preparation

2.1 Connections

Important:
R This unit is not designed for making emergency
telephone calls when the power fails. We
recommend connecting a corded-type telephone
(without AC adaptor) to the same telephone line
so in the case of power failure you will still be able
to make emergency calls.
2.1.1 Base unit
A Telephone line cord
R Connect to telephone network.
B Mains lead
R Connect to Household Mains Supply (220 V
– 240 V, 50 Hz).
Caution:
R The mains lead must remain connected at all
times.
R Never install telephone wiring during a lightning
storm.
R When you operate this product, the power outlet
should be near the product and easily accessible.
R Be sure to use the telephone line cord supplied
with this unit.
R Do not extend the telephone line cord.
Note:
R If any other device is connected to the same
telephone line, this unit may disturb the network
condition of the device.

R If you use the unit with a computer and your internet
provider instructs you to install a filter (C), please
connect it as follows.
2.1.2 Charger unit (KX-FC275 only)
A AC adaptor
R Connect to Household Mains Supply (220 V
– 240 V, 50 Hz).
B Hooks
R Fasten the AC adaptor cord to prevent it from
being disconnected.
C Screws (not supplied)
R The charger can be mounted on the wall, if
required.

Caution:
R USE ONLY WITH the supplied Panasonic AC
adaptor.
R The AC adaptor must remain connected at all
times. (It is normal for the adaptor to feel warm
during use.)
R The AC adaptor should be connected to a
vertically oriented or floor-mounted AC outlet. Do
not connect the AC adaptor to a ceiling-mounted
AC outlet, as the weight of the adaptor may cause
it to become disconnected.
