Descriptions of Parameters
Global Mode Parameters
OS Version
Not editable. Indicates the version of the currently installed operating system software.
Keyboard (Keyboard) and Version (Ver)
Not editable (and not important for the PC2R). There are two fields: Keyboard and Ver. The
Keyboard field indicates the length of the keyboard (0, of course, since there is no keyboard; in
keyboard models of the PC2, this field would have a value of 76 or 88). The Ver field is also
relevant only for keyboard models, and indicates the version of one of the software components
relating to the response of the keyboard.
Expansion Blocks 1 (EXP1) and 2 (EXP2)
Not editable. Indicates whether Expansion Sound Cards 1 and/or 2 are properly installed (in
which case the value is Yes for either or both parameters). If you've installed either Expansion
Sound Card and the corresponding parameter still has a value of No, you may have a problem
with the installation of that Sound Card.
PCX-1
Not editable. Indicates whether the PCX-1 Polyphony Expansion Kit is properly installed. If it is,
this parameter also shows the version of the PCX-1's operating system software. If you've
installed the PCX-1 and the value is still Not Installed, you may have a problem with the
installation of that Sound Card
PCXP1 and PCXP2
Not editable. On instruments that have the PCX-1 Polyphony Expansion Kit installed, this
parameter indicates whether Expansion Sound Cards 1 and/or 2 are properly installed on the
PCX-1 board. If you've installed either Expansion Sound Card and the corresponding parameter
still has a value of No, you may have a problem with the installation of that Sound Card.
Reset PC2?
Not a parameter but a prompt to execute a hard reset. Press Yes, and you'll see a prompt asking
you if you're sure. The prompt prevents you from executing a hard reset inadvertently. A hard
reset erases all RAM, and restores all programs, setups, effects, and global parameters to their
original factory settings.
Dump all objects?
Not a parameter but a prompt to initiate a SysEx dump of all programs, setups, and effects.
MIDIScope?
Not a parameter but a prompt to run MIDIScope, a MIDI-analysis application. Monitors any
event from the PC2R's keyboard or controllers, as well as MIDI information (including SysEx
messages received at the MIDI In port. Press any non-controller button to exit.
