Global Mode Parameters

The Global menu contains parameters that control high-level functions affecting the entire
PC2R—such as global EQ, MIDI clock source, and velocity sensitivity. There are also a few
utilities and special functions toward the end of the menu.
EQ: Low, Mid, and High
These three parameters control the three-band equalization for the entire PC2R. Select one of the
parameters with the cursor buttons, and change its value with the Alpha Wheel. Each parameter
has a range of values from –12 dB to +12 dB.
Local Control
Controls the connection between incoming MIDI information and the PC2R's sound engine. Set
Local Control to On (the default) when you want to play the PC2R from your MIDI source (as
well as instruments slaved to the PC2R). Set Local Control to Off if you want to mute the entire
PC2R, but still pass MIDI information to instruments slaved to the PC2R.
You'll want to turn local control off whenever you have a MIDI loop between the PC2R and
another instrument (typically a sequencer). You have a MIDI loop when the MIDI Out port of
the PC2R is connected to the MIDI In of another instrument, and its MIDI Out is connected to
the MIDI In of the PC2R. In this case, if the sequencer's Soft Thru (Patch Thru, Play Thru, etc.) is
active, you'll get doubled notes unless you turn the PC2R's local control off.
Clock
Set Clock to Internal (the default) to use the PC2R's internal MIDI clock for arpeggiation, and to
control synchronization with external MIDI equipment. Set Clock to External when you want
the PC2R (including the arpeggiator) to synchronize with a MIDI Clock signal from an external
source.
Transmit Clock
This parameter determines whether the PC2R sends its internal MIDI clock signal to its MIDI
Out port. This parameter is irrelevant if the Clock parameter has a value of External. There are
three possible values:
Off
On
Seq
The PC2R doesn't transmit its internal clock signal.
The PC2R always transmits its internal clock signal to its MIDI Out port.
Default value. The PC2R transmits its internal clock signal to its MIDI Out port
only when you're playing one of the demo sequences or using the arpeggiator.
