Testing the alarm system
Testing the passenger compartment
motion sensor:
1. Open all windows.
2. Activate the alarm. Alarm activation is
confirmed with a slow flash of the LED.
3. Wait 30 seconds.
4. Test the movement detector in the
passenger compartment by lifting a bag or
the like from the seat. The alarm should
now sound and flash.
5. Deactivate the alarm by unlocking with the
remote control.
Testing the doors:
1. Activate the alarm.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Unlock with the key on the driver's side.
4. Open one of the doors. The alarm system
should sound and flash.
5. Repeat the test for the other doors.
6. Deactivate the alarm by unlocking with the
remote control.
Testing the bonnet:
1. Get into the car and deactivate the
movement detector.
2. Arm the alarm (remain in the car and lock
the doors with the button on the remote
control).
3. Wait 30 seconds.
4. Open the bonnet with the handle under the
dashboard. The alarm should now sound
and flash.
5. Deactivate the alarm by unlocking with the
remote control.
Testing the boot lid:
1. Activate the alarm.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Unlock with the key on the driver's side.
4. Open the boot lid. The alarm should now
sound and flash.
5. Deactivate the alarm by unlocking with the
remote control.
If the alarm system does not function correctly,
have an authorised Volvo workshop examine
the car.
