Jump starting

Jump start with a booster
battery as follows:
If for some reason the battery in your car is
discharged, you can " borrow " current from a
spare battery or another car's battery to start the
engine. Always check that the clamps are
fastened properly to prevent sparking during the
start attempt.
To avoid the risk of explosion, we recommend
you do exactly as follows.
• Turn the ignition key to position 0.
• Ensure that the booster battery has

stop the engine of that car and make sure
the cars are not touching.
• Connect the red cable between the
booster battery positive terminal (1+) and
the red connection in the engine
compartment (2+).
Attach the clamp to the contact point
located beneath a small black cover with
a plus sign which is integrated in the fuse
box cover.
• Connect one clamp of the black cable to
the negative terminal of the booster
battery (3–).
• Connect the other clamp of the black
cable to the lifting eye on your car's
engine (4–).
• Start the engine of the "booster car". Let
the engine run a few minutes at a speed
slightly higher than idle, 1500 rpm.
• Start the engine of the car with the
discharged battery.
• Remove the clamps in reverse order.
Do not remove the clamps during the
start attempt (risk of spark build-up).
Starting and driving
WARNING!
Keep in mind that the batteries, especially
the booster battery, contain highly explosive
oxyhydrogen. Sparks, which may occur
when jump start cables are incorrectly
placed, may cause the battery to explode and
cause damage to the car or personal injury.
The battery contains sulphuric acid which
may cause serious corrosive damage.
If the acid comes into contact with eyes, skin
or clothing: Flush with large quantities of
water.
Contact a doctor immediately if acid makes
contact with your eyes!
