SECTION 8—SEAT
After ANY adjustments, repair or service and BEFORE use, make sure all attaching
hardware is tightened securely - otherwise injury or damage may occur.
Replacing Seat Upholstery
NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 8.1.
NOTE: The following procedure is for standard
folding frames only.
1. Remove the eight mounting screws
(four on either side) that secure the
existing seat upholstery to the
crossbraces.
2. Remove the existing seat upholstery
from the crossbraces.
3. Install the new seat upholstery by
reversing STEPS 1‐2.
Changing/Repositioning Seat Rails
NOTE: For this procedure, refer to FIGURE 8.2 on page 79.
NOTE: The following procedure is for standard folding frames only.
The seat height, seat depth, back angle, seating system, size/position of the rear
wheels, size/position of the front casters, as well as the user condition directly relate
to the stability of the wheelchair. Any change to one or any combination of the nine
may cause the wheelchair to decrease in stability. These adjustments MUST be per-
formed by a qualified technician.
1. Determine if new seat rails are needed or if the existing seat rails need to be
repositioned for the desired seat depth of the wheelchair. Refer to Adjusting or
Changing Seat Depth on page 85.
2. Remove the seat upholstery from the wheelchair. Refer to Replacing Seat Upholstery
on page 78.
NOTE: If adjusting the seat width of the wheelchair, the back and seat upholstery must be changed
as well.
