Making a call

To make a call from your Vertu phone, you should open its fold first, unless
you are using such a device as headset that supports the call handling feature.
1. Make sure that your Vertu phone is in a strong signal area and the battery
is charged fully enough (refer to "Icons and indicators" on page 21).
2. Open the fold and press the [End] key until the Home screen appears.
3. Use the Number keys (page 18) to enter the telephone number you
would like to call.
4. Press the [Send] key (page 18) to begin your call.
Tip: You can make a call quickly by selecting a person from the Contacts
list and then pressing the [Send] key. If you have not changed the default
configuration, you can launch the Contacts list by just giving a short press
on the [Navigation] key (Down) from the Home screen.
Or you can also use the All callls log. The log list can be displayed just by
pressing the [Send] key from the Home screen, or if you have not
changed the default configuration, by pressing the [Navigation] key (Left).
Making a call while the fold is closed
When you are connecting such a device as headset that supports call
handling, you can make a call directly from the conneted device even
without opening your phone (for example, by pressing the call key on the
device). For details on how to make a call from such a device, refer to the
user guide for the relevant device.

Answering a call

When you receive an incoming call, a call message appears on the inner or
outer display, and a ringing tone is played when an incoming call alert has
been enabled. Your Vertu phone will also vibrate if you have set a vibrating
alert.
You can use one of the following procedures to answer the call:

To answer a call when the fold is open:
1. When you have a call, select Silence (right [Selection] key) to stop the
ringing tone first.
2. To answer the call, either press the [Send] key (page 18) or press the
centre [SELECT] key when you see Answer on the screen.
To answer a call while the fold is closed (Case 1 with headset connected):
You can answer an incoming call without opening your Vertu phone, if a
headset or other device that has a call handling capability, is connected.
1. When you have a call, push the [Sliding] key (page 21) up, and then tap
the [Silence] button (page 20) on the outer display if you would like to
turn off the ringing tone first.
2. Follow a procedure as required by the connected device to answer the
call (for example, press the call key on the headset).

To answer a call while the fold is closed (Case 2 with no headset connected):
You should first open your Vertu phone to answer an incoming call, if no
headset or other device (with a call handling capability) is connected.
1. When you have a call, push the [Sliding] key (page 21) up, and then tap
the [Silence] button (page 20) on the outer display if you would like to
turn off the ringing tone first.
2. Open your Vertu phone (and if necessary, either press the [Send] key
(page 18) or select Answer (centre [SELECT] key) after opening the
fold) to answer the call.
After opening the fold, you will also need to press the [Send] key or select

Answer, if the following setting is Off. You can immediately answer the call just
by opening the fold, if the setting is On.
