Your First Recording with Ableton Live
Now that the Preferences are set, close the Preferences window and let's record.
But first, check the RIP Console and make sure that the following channels are unmuted:
Guitar, Piezo, Playback 1 and 2, and Analog Out 1 and Out 2. Also make sure that the RIP
outputs are hooked up to a monitoring system, or you have headphones plugged into the front
panel Phones jack. Play Dark Fire; you should hear it over your monitors or headphones. If
not, refer to the RIP Owner's Manual to find out where the problem lies. Do not continue until
you can hear Dark Fire through the RIP.
1. If the M(ixer) button isn't lit, click on it to show the mixer.
2. Click on the Arm Recording button for the track.
3. Click on the Global Record button.
4. Click on the Play button (or hit your computer keyboard's space bar).
