File Folder Tab
After adjusting the audio Preferences, click on the File Folder tab. In most cases, Live "knows"
where it installed its components, such as the Library. However, it does need to know where
you installed the Guitar Rig 3 plug-in.
In the Quick Start Installation manual, when installing Guitar Rig 3 you were asked to make
note of where it installed its VST plug-in. By default, this is:
C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Guitar Rig 3\VSTPlugins 32 bit
For Live to find Guitar Rig 3, make sure that "Use VST Plug-In Custom Folder" is On, as shown
in the screen shot. Then, click on Browse and navigate to C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\
Guitar Rig 3\VSTPlugins 32 bit. Click on the VSTPlugins 32 bit folder to highlight it, then click
on OK. Live will now know where to find the Guitar Rig 3 plug-in. The plug-ins folder name will
appear under the Browse button.
Other Preferences Tabs
For now, leave all other settings at their defaults. As you learn more about the program, you
might want to re-visit Preferences and make some changes. For example, under the "Look
Feel" tab, you can choose a different language, or a different "skin" that determines the
program's look.
