Click on the "Use Audio Units" field so that it is On, as shown in the screen shot. Then, click on
the "Use VST Plug-In System Folders" field so that it is On as well. If you have created a
custom folder for VST plug-ins, then click on the "Use VST Plug-In Custom Folder," and next,
click on Browse and navigate to the folder. However, most Mac programs do not require
setting up a custom folder so this will likely not be an issue.
After specifying the plug-in folders, click on Rescan to make sure Live recognizes all available
plug-ins.
Other Preferences Tabs
For now, leave all other settings to their defaults. As you learn more about the program, you
might want to re-visit Preferences and make some changes. For example, under the "Look
Feel" tab, you can choose a different language, or a different "skin" that determines the
program's look.
