I. Rotate the blade until the other
tip is at the front of the mower and
slip the belt over that tip.
J. Place the belt around the Blade
Brake Control plate (G, Figure 5-
15) and up through the deck open-
ing at the front of the engine.
Slide the belt around the Blade
Brake Control arm (F).
K. Maneuver the belt onto the
engine crankshaft pulley (H,
Figure 5-14).
L. Tilt the rear of the wheel drive
pulley (C, Figure 5-12) toward the
engine and install the belt on the
pulley.
M. Rotate the Blade Brake
Control plate (G, Figure 5-14)
back into position to allow inser-
tion of shoulder bolt (D, Figure
5-13). Securely tighten the shou!-
der bolt.
NOTE: If a grass shield was
removed in the previous steps,
reinstall it now (along with the
mower blade, if the blade was also
removed).

N. Replace the Blade Brake
Control cable spring (B, Figure
5-15).
O. Using needle nose pliers,
replace the Blade Brake Control
spring (A, Figure 5-15) onto the
the Blade Brake Control ann.
E Remove the Phillips screw
from the spring retaining bracket
and reinstall the front deck cover
using the two Phillips head screws.
DO NOT START ENGINE
WITHOUT COVER SECURELY
INSTALLED.
