B. Push the Wheel Drive Control
Bar (C, Figure 4-12) up against
the handlebar.
The mower will
move forward at the selected
speed.
To Start Blade Rotation:
A. To start the mower blade rotat-
ing, pull the Blade Brake Control
Bar (F, Figure 4-12) up against the
handlebar.
B. Then push the Blade Brake
Control Lever (E) forward
until
the lever latches into place in the
forward position.
The mower
blade is now rotating.
NOTE:
The blade will rotate only
while the Blade Brake Control Bar
is up against the handlebar
and the
lever is latched in the forward
position.

WARNING
If the Blade Brake Control
System does not operate
properly, the blade could
continue to rotate for longer
than three seconds after the
Blade Brake ControlBar is re-
leased. If this occurs, stop
the engine, disconnect the
spark plug wire and move it
away from the spark plug.
Immediately
contact your
local authorizeddealer Mrthe
factory for instructions. Do
not operate the mower until
the Blade Brake Control
System is repaired.
Failure to do this could result
in personal injury or property
damage.
To Stop Forward Movement of
Mower:
Let go of the Wheel Drive Control
Bar (C, Figure 4-12) to stop the
wheels.
To Stop the Engine:
Move the Engine
Speed Lever to
the STOP position
shown in
Figure 4-13.
STEP 3: Stopping
To Stop Blade Rotation:
Release the Blade Brake Control
Bar (F, Figure 4-12). Doing so au-
tomatically
disengages
the Blade
Brake Control Lever (E), and the
mower blade stops within three
seconds.
IMPORTANT:
Releasing
the
Blade Brake
Control
Bar stops
only the mower blade.
If the
Wheel Drive Control Bar (C) is
ENGAGED,
the mower
will con-
tinue to move forward.
