Important Safety Information
Verify LineVoltage Before Use
YourAVR110 has beendesignedfor usewith
120-vottAC current.Connectionto a line volt-
age otherthan that for which it is intended
can createa safetyand fire hazardand may
damagethe unit.
Ifyou haveany questions aboutthe voltage
requirements f or yourspecific model,or about
the linevottagein yourarea,contactyourselling
dealerbeforepluggingthe unit into a waltouttet.
Do Not Use Extension Cords
Toavoid safetyhazards, u seonly the power
cord attachedto your unit. We do not recom-
mend that extensioncordsbe usedwith this
product.Aswith all electricaldevices,do not
run power cordsunderrugsor carpetsor place
heavyobjectson them. Damaged power cords
shouldbe replacedimmediatelybyan author-
ized sewicedepot with a cord meetingfactory
specifications.
Handle the AC Power Cord Gently
When disconnecting the power cordfrom an
AC outtet,alwaysputtthe plug - neverpull the
cord. If you do not intendto usethe unit for
any considerable length of time,disconnectthe
plug from the AC outlet.
Do Not Open the Cabinet
Thereare no user-sewiceable c omponents
insidethis product.Openingthe cabinet may
presenta shockhazard,and any modification
to the productwill void your guarantee,if water
or any metal objectsuchas a paperclip,wire
or a stapleaccidentally falls insidethe unit, dis-
connectit from the AC power sourceimmedi-
ately, andconsultan authorizedservicestation.
CAW or Antenna Grounding
If an outsideantennaor cable systemis con-
nectedto this product,becertain that it is
groundedso asto providesomeprotection
againstvoltagesurgesandstatic charges.
Section810 of the NationalElectrical C ode,
ANSI/NFPA No.70-1984,providesinformation
with respectto propergroundingof the mast
and supportingstructure,groundingof the lead-
in wire to an antennadischarge unit, sizeof
groundingconductors,locationof antennadis-
chargeunit, connectionto groundingelectrodes
and requirements of the groundingelectrode.
NOTETO CAW SYSTEMINSTALLER: T his
reminderis providedto call the CATV(Cable
TV) systeminstaller'sattention to article820-
40 of the NECthat providesguidelinesfor
proper groundingand, in particular,specifies
that the cable ground shallbe connectedto the
groundingsystemof the building,ascloseto
the point of cable entryas possible.
Installation Location
• Toensureproper operationand to avoid the
potentialfor safetyhazards, p lacethe unit
on a firm andlevel surface. W hen placingthe
unit on a shelf,becertain that the shelfand
any mounting hardwarecan supportthe
weight of the product.
• Makecertain that properspaceis provided
both aboveand below the unit for ventila-
tion. If this productwill be installedin a
cabinetor other enclosedarea,makecertain
that thereis sufficientair movementwithin
the cabinet. Undersomecircumstances, a
fan maybe required.
• Donot placethe unit directlyon a carpeted
surface.
• Avoid installation in extremelyhot or cold
locations, o r in an area that is exposedto
direct sunlightor heatingequipment.
• Avoid moist or humid locations.
• Donot obstructthe ventilation slots on the
top of the unit, or place objectsdirectly
overthem.
Cleaning
Whenthe unit gets dirty,wipe it with a clean,
soft, dry cloth. If necessa_/, wipe it with a soft
cloth dampened with mild soapywater,then a
freshcloth with cleanwater.Wipedry immedi-
atelywith a do/cloth. NEVER usebenzene,
aerosol c leaners, t hinne_, a lcoholor anyother
volatilecleaningagent.Donot useabrasive
deanels,asthey maydamagethe finishof metal
parts.Avoid sprayinginsecticide nearthe unit.
Moving the Unit
Beforemovingthe unit, be certain to discon-
nect any interconnectioncordswith othercom-
ponents,and makecertainthat you disconnect
the unit flora the AC outlet.
Important Information for the User
Thisequipmenthasbeentested and found to
complywith the limits for a Class-B digital
device,pursuantto Part15 of the FCCRules.
Thelimits are designedto providereasonable
protection againstharmful interferencein a
residentialinstallation.Thisequipmentgener-
ares,uses andcan radiateradio-frequency e nergy
and, if not installedand usedin accordance
with the instructions,maycauseharmful inter-
ferenceto radiocommunication.However, t here
is no guaranteethat harmful interferencewilt
not occurin a particular installation.If this

Unpacking
Thecartonand shippingmaterialsusedto pro-
tect your newreceiverduring shipmentwere
speciallydesignedto cushionit from shock and
vibration.We suggestthat you savethe carton
and packingmaterialsfor usein shippingif you
move,or shouldthe unit everneedrepaiL
Tominimizethe sizeof the cartonin storage,
you may wish to flatten it. This is doneby cam-
fully slitting the tape seamson the bottom and
collapsingthe carton.Othercardboardinserts
may be storedinthe samemanner.Packing
materialsthat cannot be collapsedshouldbe
savedalong with the cartonin a plasticbag.
If you do not wish to savethe packagingmate-
rials, pleasenotethat the cartonand other sec-
tions of the shippingprotection are recydabte.
Pleaserespectthe environmentand discard
those materialsat a local recyclingcenter.
