Operation
Preset Tuning
Usingthe remote,up to 30 stationsmay be
storedin the AVR11O'smemoryfor easyrecall
using the front panelcontrols or the remote.
Toentera station into the memo U, first tune
the station usingthe steps outlined above.
Then:
1. Pressthe Memory button I_
on the
remote. Notethat the MEMORY indicator[]
will be illuminatedand flash in the Main
Information Display _'&
2. Within five seconds, p ressthe Numeric
Keys _) corresponding to the locationwhere
you wish to store this station's frequency. O nce
entered,the presetnumberwill appearin the
Preset Number/Sleep Timer display_) 17J.
3. Repeatthe processafter tuning any
additionalstationsto be preset.
Recalling Preset Stations
• To manuallyselecta station previously
entered inthe presetmemory,pressthe
Numeric Keys I_ that correspond to the
desiredstation's memorylocation.
• To manuallytune through the list of stored
presetstations oneby one.pressthe Preset
Stations Selector buttons_]_
on the
front panelor remote.
Tape Recording
In normaloperation,the audio or video source
selectedfor listeningthrough the AVR110 is
sent to the recordoutputs.This meansthat any
programyou are watchingor listeningto may
be recordedsimplybyplacingmachinescon-
nectedto the outputs for Tape Outputs O or
Video 1 or 2 Outputs _1_
in the
recordmode.
When a digital audiorecorderis connectedto
the Digital Audio Outputs O. you are able
to recold the digital signalusing a CD-R.
MiniDiseor other digital recordingsystem.
NOTES:
• Thedigital outputsare active onlywhen a
digital signal is present,andthey do not
convertan analog inputto a digital signal.
or changethe format of the digital signal.
In addition,the digital recordermust be
compatiblewith the output signal.For
example, t he PCMdigital inputfrom a CD
playermay be recoldedon a CD-Ror
MiniDisc.but DolbyDigitalor DTS signals
may not.

Output Level Trim AdJustment
Normaloutput leveladjustmentfor the
AVR110 is establishedusing the test tone. as
outlined on pages22 and 23. In somecases.
however,it may be desirableto adjustthe out-
put levelsusing programmaterialsuchas a test
disc.or a selectionyou are familiar with.
Additionally.the output levelfor the subwoofer
can only be adjustedusingthis procedure.
Toadjustthe output levelsusing program
material,first setthe referencevolumefor the
frontdeft andfiont-right channelsusing the
Volume Control _i'ilI_t.
Oncethe referencelevelhas beenset. press
the Channel Select button (_r_
and note
that FRONT
L
LEV wilt appearin the
Main Information Display t'_]. Tochange
the level,first pressthe Set button (_'1.
and then usethe Selector buttons[]
or the
A/,
buttonsII_I_
to raiseor lower the
level. DO NOTusethe volume control,as this
wilI alter the referencesetting.
Oncethe changehas been made.pressthe Set
button Ii]_1_1 and then pressthe Selector
buttons [] or the A/v buttonstI_I_
to
selectthe next output channellocation that you
wish to adjust.Toadjustthe subwooferlevel.
pressthe Selector buttons[] or the A/v
buttonsII_I_I
until SW LEV appealsin the
Main Information Displayl'_J.
Pressthe Set button Ii_1_1 when the nameof
the desiredchannelappearsin the Main
Information Display [] follow the instruc-
tions shownearlierto adjustthe level.
Repeatthe procedureas neededuntil all chan-
nels requiringadjustmenthavebeenset.When
all adjustmentshavebeen madeand no further
adjustmentsare madefor five seconds, t he
AVR110 wilt return to normaloperation.
NOTE:Theoutputlevelsmaybe separately
tzimmed for eachdigitalandanalogsulround
mode.Ifyou wishto havedifferenttrim levelsfor
a specific mode.selectthat modeandthen follow
the instzuctions i n the stepsshownearlier.
Display Brightness
TheAVR110's Main Information Display
[]
is set at a default brightnesslevelthat is
sufficientfor viewing in a normallylit room.
However.in somehome-theaterinstallations.
you may wish to occasionally lower the bright-
nessof the display,or turn it off completely.
Tochangethe displaybrightness,pressand
hold the Set button[]
on the front for three
secondsuntil the message in the Main
Information Display[]
readsVF D
F U L L. Within five seconds, p ressthe front
panel Selector buttons[] until the desired
brightnessdisplaylevel is shown.At that point.
pressthe Set button []
againto enterthe
setting.
When FULL
appearsin the Main
Information Display[]. the displayis at its
normal brightness. When H AL F appears,the
displayis at half the normalbrightnesslevel.
When OFF appears,all of the indicatorsin the
Main Information Display []
will go dark.
Note,however, t hat the green LEDsfor the
Input Indicators [] and the Surround
Mode Indicators [], aswell as for the
Power Indicator I_1.wilI alwaysremainlit to
remindyou that the unit is turned on.
Oncethe desiredbrightnesslevelis selected,it
will remainin effect until it is changedagainor
until the unit is turned off.
Memory Backup
Thisproduct is equippedwith a memoly backup
systemthat presewes the systemconfiguration
information andtuner presetsif the unit is acci-
dentallyunpluggedor subjectedto a power
outage.This memorywill lastfor approximately
two weeks,after which time all information
must be reentered.
