Programming the Remote
Macro Programming
Macrosenableyou to easityrepeatfrequently
usedcombinationsof commands with the press
of a single buttonon the AVR110'sremotecon-
trol. Onceprogrammed, a macrowill sendout
up to 19 different remotecodesin a predeter-
minedsequentialolder enablingyou to auto-
mate the process of turning on your system,
changingdevices, o r othercommontasks. T he
AVR11O'sremotecan storeup to five separate
macrocommandsequences: onethat is
associated with the Power On button O,
and
four morethat are accessed by pressingthe
Macro buttonsI_I.
1. Pressthe Mute button I_
and the
Macro button I_
to be programmedor
the Power On button O
at the same
time.Note that an Input Selector 11_ wilt
light red,and the Program Indicator 1_1
wilt flash amber.
2. Enterthe stepsfor the macrosequence by
pressingthe button for the actualcommand
step.Althoughthe macromaycontain up to
19 steps,eachbutton press,includingthose
usedto changedevices, c ountsasa step.
TheProgram Indicator !_1 wilt flash
greento confirmeachbutton pressas you
entercommands.
NOTE:While enteringcommands for Power
On/Offof any devicedurinfl a macrosequence,
pressthe Mute button I_. DONOTpressthe
actualPowerbutton.
3. When all the steps havebeen entered,
pressthe Sleep button I_t to enterthe
commands.Thered light underthe Input
Selectors 11_t
will blink and then
turn off.
Example:Toprogramthe Macro1 button
sothat it turnson the AVR110,TVanda
CableBox,follow thesesteps:
• Press the Macro I I_I andMute l_
buttonsat the sametime andthen release
them.
• Notethat the Program Indicator !_t
wilt flash ambec
• Press the AVRSelector 1_.
• Press the Mute button _
to storethe
AVR110's poweron command.
• Press the VID 2 Input Selector button
1_ to indicatethe nextcommandisfor
"TV PowerOn."
• Press the Mute button I_ to storethe
TVPowerOnCommand.
• Press the VID 3 Input Selector button
1_ to indicatethe nextcommandisfor
"CablePowerOn."
• Press the Mute button I_} to storethe
CablePowerOncommand.
• Press the Sleep/ChannelUp button 1_1
to completethe process andstorethe
macrosequence.
After following thesesteps,eachtime you
pressthe Macro 1 button _,
the remote
will sendthe PowerOn/Offcommand.
ErasingMacro Commands
Toremovethe commandsthat havebeenpro-
grammedinto one of the Macrobuttons,follow
thesesteps:
1. Pressthe Mute button _
and the
Macro button _
that containsthe com-
mandsyou wish to erase.
2. Note that the Program Indicator _)
will
flash amber,andthe LEDunderthe AVR
Selector l[_ will turn red.
3. Within ten seconds, p ressthe Surround
Mode Selector/Channel Down
button(_.
4. Thered LEDunderthe AVR Selector
wilt go out, and the Program Indicator
1_1 wilt turn greenand flashthreetimes
beforeit goesout.
5. When the Program Indicator _) goes
out, the Macrohas beenerased.
Programmed Device Functions
Ot_ce the AVR110'sremotehas beenpro-
grammedforthe codesof otherdevices, p ress
the appropriateInput Selector _
to change
the remotefrom controllingthe AVR110 to con-
trollingthe addkionat p roduct.Whenyoupress
any oneof the selectors, it wilt brieflyflashin red
to indicatethat you havechanged the device
beingcontrolled.
Whenoperatinga deviceotherthan the
AVR110, the controlsmaynot correspond
exactlyto the function printedon the remote
or button. Somecommands, such asthe volume
control,arethe sameasthey arewith the
AVR110. Other buttonswilt changetheir
function sothat they correspond to a seconday
label on the remote.Forexample, t he Sleep
and Surroundmodeselectorbuttonsalsofunc-
tion asthe ChannelUp andChannelDown
