Problem

Cause/Solution [_
[)ate does not appear on movies, on pictures taken
using _. (Sports scene mode), _ (Museum scene
mode), M (Panorama assist scene mode), when
Blink proof is set to On in smile mode, when the
Continuous setting is set to Continuous or BSS, or
when Electronic VR is set to Auto.

Backup battery is exhausted; all settings were restored 131
to their default values.
Battery temperature is high. Turn off camera, and allow 19
battery to cool down before resuming use. After the
lamps blink for three minutes, the camera will turn off
automatically. Pressing the power switch also turns off
the camera.
Electronically Controlled Cameras
In extremely rare instances, unusual characters may appear in tile monitor and tile
camera may stop functioning. In most cases, this phenomenon is caused by a
strong external static charge. Turn the camera off, remove and replace the battery,
then turn the camera on again. In the event of continued malfunction, contact
your retailer or Nikon-authorized service representative. Note that disconnectinc
the power source as described above may result in the loss of any data not
recorded to internal memory or the memory card at the time the problem
occurred. Data already recorded will not be affected.
Shooting
