Exposure compensation
is used to alter exposure from
the value suggested by the camera to make pictures
brighter or darker.
• When the subject is too dark: tap 4" to adjust the
exposure compensation
to "+" side.
• When the subject is too bright: tap m to adjust the
exposure compensation
to "-" side.
• Exposure compensation
can be set to values between -2.0 and +2.0 EV.
At settings other than 0.0, the indicator for the current setting is displayed in the
monitor

g).

is stored in the camera's
memory
even
after the camera
is turned
off, and reapplied
the next time
I_1 (auto) mode
is selected.

shooting
mode
is selected
or the camera
is turned
off.

Exposure
Compensation
The camera
tends to lower exposure
when
the frame is dominated
by brightly
lit o_ects
and to
increase exposure
when the frame is mostly
dark, Positive
compensation

to capture
the brilliancy
of very bright
o_ects
that fill the frame (_r exam pie, sunlit
expanses
of
water,
sand, or snow) or when the background
is much
brighter
than the main su_ect,
Negative
corn pensation
may be called for when
large areas of the frame contain
very dark objects

example,
a swath of dark green
leaves) or when the background
is much darker than
the main
subject,
