ROLL HOLD MODE (ROL)

NOTE: If Roll Hold Mode is activated as a result of a mode reversion, the
Integrated Autopilot rolls the wings level.
When the Integrated Autopilot is activated, Roll Hold Mode is selected by
default. This mode is annunciated as 'ROL' in the G3X Autopilot Status Box.
Roll Mode maintains a constant bank angle, the roll reference, which is subject
to the following bank angle conditions:
Initial Bank Angle
Less than 6°
6° to Maximum Bank Setting
Greater than Maximum Bank Setting Limits bank angle to maximum bank setting
CHANGING THE ROLL REFERENCE
When operating in Roll Hold Mode, the roll reference can be adjusted in the
following ways:
• To decrease the roll reference, move FMS Joystick (PFD) to the left or
right and hold. The Integrated Autopilot slowly decreases the bank
angle. The current bank angle as the FMS Joystick is released is held
(if the bank angle exceeds 6°). If the bank angle is less than 6° as the
FMS Joystick is released, the Integrated Autopilot will roll the aircraft
wings level. The roll reference cannot be increased using the FMS
Joystick.
• Hold the CWS Button (if equipped), establish the desired bank angle,
then release the CWS Button.
