In Windows, when you point to and select a file on the desktop or
in any Explorer view, you can display a context menu by clicking
the right mouse button.
One of the commands in this menu is the Properties command.
When you select this command, it displays the General properties
of the selected file in the Properties dialog box.
For XIF files, Pagis Pro adds up to two additional property sheets
to the Properties dialog box—Pagis Index and XIF Details. For
any other file type that Pagis Pro includes in a search index, it
adds the Pagis Index tab to the file's properties.
Please read the following subsections for more information.
Defining keywords and other index properties for a file
Pagis Pro enables you to index and search for virtually any text
or image file on your system. One way to organize files for later
searching is to define Pagis Index properties for them.
The Pagis Index properties include Author, Title, and Keywords.
You can define these properties in the Scan Tool when you scan a
document, or at anytime later using the following procedure.
To add Pagis Index properties, the file(s) must already be
Note
referenced in a Pagis index, or must at least be located in a folder
that is included in a Pagis index. For more information about
defining Pagis indexes, refer to "Pagis Index Manager and
Update Tool" later in this chapter.
1. Right-click on the file or files for which you want to define
Keyword properties.
The context menu appears (refer to Figure 4–10).
2. Select the Properties command.
The Properties tabbed dialog box for the selected file or files now
appears. One of tab labels is Pagis Index (Figure 4–13).
