McAfee Internet Guard Dog

User Profile

To customize protection settings for another user, click User Setup from the
Internet Guard Dog Home page, the User Setup screen is displayed. You can
add, edit or delete a user's profile from this screen. Click any of the buttons
available and follow through the instructions displayed on screen.

How Internet Filtering works

As a new feature of Internet Guard Dog, you can further customize the
protection settings of a profiled user via the Internet Filtering options.
From the User Setup screen, select a user; click Edit User Options; then click
the Internet Filtering button.

Internet filtering

You can set specific Internet filtering options. Click the Internet Filtering
button and select via the following drop-down menu options:
• Content Ratings. This option allows you to control what kind of Web
contents the user is allowed to view.
• Web Sites. This option allows you to control what Web sites the user is
allowed or not allowed to view.
• Content Filter. After launching Internet Filtering, the Content Filter screen
is displayed. This screen allows you to quickly enable or disable Internet
Guard Dog filters.

Allow Internet Access. Select this option if you want the user to
access to the Internet at all times.
Filter Web Access. Select this option if you want to limit the user's
access to the Internet.
Use Search Cleaner. Select this option if you want Internet Guard
Dog to automatically filter certain contents (e.g., words and
phrases).
Allow Chat. Select this option if you want to allow the user to go
into online chat rooms.
Filter Chat. Select this option if you want to allow the user to go into
online chat rooms but filter certain contents (e.g., words and
phrases).
