None, CD-ROM, IDE Removable, User,
ATAPI Removable, Auto
Defaults to Disabled and changes at boot time
based on auto-detection. When set to Auto, the
values for Cylinders, Heads, Sectors, and
Maximum Capacity are displayed but are read
only.
When set to Auto, the BIOS detects what the
drive is capable of, not the translation
mechanism that was used to format the drive. If
a drive is run in a mode other than the mode in
which it was partitioned and formatted,
unpredictable results may occur, including data
loss.
Displays capacity in MB.
When Type is set to Auto, the value in the
Maximum Capacity field is computed from the
auto-detected values in Cylinders, Heads, and
Sectors, and the field is read only.
Disabled , 2 sectors, 4 sectors, 8 sectors,
16 sectors
When Type is set to Auto, the value in the Multi-
Sector Transfers field is auto-detected and the
field is read only.
Disabled, Enabled
When Enabled is selected, it causes logical block
addressing to be used in place of cylinders,
heads, and sectors.
When Type is set to Auto, the value in the LBA
Mode Control field is auto-detected and the field
is read only.
