Carefully read p. 55 (MAINTENANCE).
 
CAUTION
Do not repair faulty fuses.
Use only recommended fuses.
Using fuses of an improper capacity
can cause damage to the electrical sys-
tem or an electrical fire, which could re-
sult in total destruction of your motor-
cycle as well as injury to you.
NOTE
If a fuse blows frequently, there
probably is a short circuit or an overload in
the electrical system. If this occurs, take the
motorcycle to your Local aprilia Dealer.
If an electric component does not work or
works irregularly, or if the motorcycle fails
to start, it is necessary to check the fuse
(1).

To check the fuse:
Turn the ignition switch (2) in the "
(OFF) position.
Remove the rider saddle, see p. 68 (RE-
MOVING THE RIDER SADDLE).
Remove the fuse (1) and inspect the fila-
ment (3). If it is open, the fuse must be
replaced.
Replace the blown fuse with the spare
fuse (4), or with a new fuse having the
same amperage rating.
 
WARNING
If you replace the fuse and it blows
again immediately, there is a serious
problem with the electrical system of
your motorcycle. Do not attempt to
continue using your motorcycle. Take it
to your Local
Delear for repair
and service.
NOTE

If you use the spare fuse (4), re-
place it as soon as convenient.

FUSE CIRCUIT
A 7.5 amp fuse protects all of the electrical
loads except the lighting circuit, which is
fed with alternating current directly from
the alternator.
