Setting parental controls

Parental controls let you control what your children watch on
TV. When set, parental controls read the rating of the program
(with some exceptions, such as news and sports) and deny
access to programs that exceed the rating level you select. To
watch programs that exceed the selected rating, you must
enter your PIN (password).

Setting the PIN (password)

To set PIN (password):
Press TiVo. The Home screen opens. Press

Settings, then press or SELECT.
Press or to highlight Parental Controls, then press

Press or to highlight any Parental Controls option, then
press or SELECT. The Set PIN screen opens.

Turn on Parental Controls
Rating limits
Lock channels
Lock buttons
Press the number buttons to enter your personal four-digit
PIN. The Confirm PIN screen opens. Enter the PIN again.
Using Your TV

Turn Parental Controls on to block
TV shows and movies by rating,
lock specific channels, or lock the
buttons on the TV.
