Configuring 3800 Series Modems

The 3800 Series modems can be configured to perform specific functions by setting the following
options:

COMSPHERE 3600 Series DSUs can interoperate with
DATAPHONE II 2600 Series DSUs when the 3600 Series DSUs are
optioned to be 2600 DSU compatible. To be compatible, the device
profiles of the 3600 Series DSUs must be defined as 2600 Series
models. This will cause the 6800 Series NMS to treat this device as
a DATAPHONE II device. At the device level, this device will be
treated as a tributary DSU. The device has no additional
capabilities. The user should add a comment in the device profile to
note that the device is actually a 3600 Series DSU in 2600
emulation mode.
