Overview

Before you configure your network, you must create device, site, and facility profiles for the
devices. (Refer to the COMSPHERE 6800 Series Network Management System User's/System
Administrator's Guide for additional information on creating profiles.)
Before the network is completely operational, all devices in the network must be configured. Some
of the commands used to configure the devices are disruptive and should be used only as specified
in the COMSPHERE 6800 Series Network Management System Communications Product Support
Command Reference Manual. All of these commands are available from the Manager task.
Table 2-1 lists the NMS commands used to configure devices, indicates whether the command is
disruptive or nondisruptive, indicates whether the command is an APL, DDD, or DDS command,
and briefly describes the command.
