194 Driving and parking
The system may be impaired or may not function
in the following situations:
If there is poor visibility, e.g. due to insufficient
R
illumination of the road, highly variable shade
conditions, rain, snow, fog or heavy spray.
If there is glare, e.g. from oncoming traffic,
R
direct sunlight or reflections.
If the windshield is dirty in the vicinity of the
R
multifunction camera.
If the multifunction camera is fogged up, dam-
R
aged or obscured.
If road signs are hard to detect, e.g. due to
R
dirt, snow or insufficient lighting, or because
they are obscured.
If the information in the navigation system's
R
digital map is incorrect or out of date.
If signs are ambiguous, e.g. road signs in road-
R
works or in adjacent lanes.
If the radar sensors are dirty or obscured.
R
When you drive on roads with steep uphill or
R
downhill gradients.
If there are narrow vehicles in front, such as
R
bicycles or motorcycles.

Function of the haptic accelerator pedal
The haptic accelerator pedal features an addi-
tional pressure point to help you drive as effi-
ciently as possible in drive program ;.
Range maximization
▌Range maximization function
The range maximization function enables a maxi-
mum range gain. To achieve this, the function par-
tially or completely switches off convenience sys-
tems that are not relevant to driving and activates
efficiency-enhancing driving functions.
The range maximization function controls the
restrictions of the following function groups:
Climate control
R
Restricting climate control functions and
-
deactivating front windshield, rear window
and mirror heating
Interior
R
Switching off ambient lighting, displays
-
and certain charging functions
Seating comfort
R
Deactivating the steering wheel heater,
-
seat heating and ventilation and deactivat-
ing the massage function
ECO drive functions
R
Changing to the ; drive program, acti-
-
vating ECO Assist and the hà recu-
peration level
If necessary, you can deactivate the restrictions
of individual function groups again. This will
reduce the maximum range gain by the value
specified for the function group.
If you switch on a deactivated function while
range maximization is activated, all restrictions of
the corresponding function group will be removed
and the maximum range gain will be reduced
accordingly. For example, if you switch on the
