(3.6.3) Hi-Hat Setup

The hi-hat controller mounts on a normal hi-hat stand underneath the cymbal pad,
and tracks the relative position of the cymbal as you move the hi-hat pedal. The PRIME
drum module will detect the position of the pedal.
To adjust the playability to personal preference, use this calibration procedure below.
1.
Tap the HH Setup button at the top right of
the Trigger Edit menu. This will bring up a
quick calibration procedure overlay with
instructions.
• A live meter of the hi-hat controller data
will be seen, indicated by a vertical bar.
2. Loosen the clutch of the hi-hat, allowing it
to freely move up and down the pull rod.
Then, let the cymbal rest down on the
controller.
3. Tap the SET button.
4. Without pushing down on your hi-hat
pedal, raise the cymbal to the preferred
height
and
recommended to not set the hi-hat cymbal
too high with a gap between the cymbal
and the hi-hat controller "piston." Once
complete, press the FINISH button.
5. Once you have completed the calibration,
you may want to fine tune the Pedal Closed
value, found in the Advanced settings for
the Hi-hat Trigger Input. This value is
critical to getting comfortable with the
position where open sounds transition to
closed sounds, and how easy it is for you to
execute the pedal "splash" and "chick"
sounds.
