Part of the
original image is
lost on the copy.
The copy has
shadows.

Symptoms
Was the original scanned
face up?
A probable cause is an
internal machine error.
Was the original positioned
correctly in the scanner?
Is the media loaded
correctly?
Are the copy density, media
supply, margins, and scan
offset settings correct?
Is the original pasted
together or folded in?
Is the original made of
highly transparent material?
Check
Place the original face down to scan.
Contact your Xerox Customer Support
Center.
Correctly insert the original.
Refer to "Step 3 Scanning the Original" (P.48).
Load the media correctly.
Refer to "Loading Media" (P.37).
Correctly configure the settings.
Adjust the copy density and original type
settings.
Refer to "Copy Density" (P.66), "Original
Type" (P.65).
