You can create your own video program by
editing with any other f] 8 mm,
[J Betamax
or (VHS) VHS VCR.
Before You Begin
¢ Make connections using an appropriate
audio/video connecting cable according to
the connector type of your VCR. (P)
Sony offers you the following cables.
[a] VMC-710M/720M:
for monaural VCR
[b] VMC-910MS/920MS: for stereo VCR
* Set the input selector of the VCR to LINE, if
available.
Insert a tape to be recorded into the
recording VCR.
Move EDIT on the camcorder in the
direction of the arrow. (EDIT ON)
Set INPUT/OUTPUT to OUTPUT.
Set POWER of the camcorder to VTR and
insert your recorded tape.
Play back the tape on the camcorder and
locate the point where you want to start
editing and set the camcorder to the
playback pause mode.
On the recording VCR, locate the recording
start point and set the VCR to the recording
pause mode.
Press §f on both units simultaneously to
start editing.

To stop editing momentarily
Press Jf on the recording VCR.
To edit more scenes
Repeat steps 5 to 7.
To stop editing
Press (1 on both units.
Use of the EDIT switch
When you set EDIT to the direction of the arrow
(EDIT ON), picture and sound deteriorations
resulting from editing can be kept to the minimum.
Avoid using the edited tape for multiple
generations of editing. After editing, move EDIT in
the opposite direction of the arrow (EDIT OFF).
