6 After recording, press the stop (m) button to end
recording.
e "PMA REC" is displayed and the unit stops after recording the
track data.
CAUTION:
@ Do not play the DAT or DCC of the source player with pro-
grammed playback, for this may lead to incorrect writing of
the track numbers. If programmed playback sho
corded, record each track separately using the 1
cording procedure.
@ The track number is renewed when a start ID is detected
during all-track synchro recording from DAT or DCC.
@ When performing all-track synchro recording from a CD or
Mini Disc player using normal playback, the track number is
renewed just as the track changes on the playback side.
When the CD or Mini Disc player is in the programmed play-
back mode, however, the track number is not renewed until
the first sound is encountered after the track changes

This operation automatically performs finalization after an all-
track recording. Finalization is the final process in recording a
CD-R or CD-RW disc that is playable on standard CD ciayers.
(However, CD-RW discs, whether finalized or not, can only be
played back on a CD-RW disc player.) See page 74 for details.
1 Perform steps 1 to 4 of "ALL-TRACK RECORD-
ING" on page 48.
2 In step 4 on page 48, set the recorder to ALL-
TRACK RECORDING (the SYNC indicator blinks)
press the FINALIZE button so that the FINALIZE
indicator starts blinking.

@ Press the FINALIZE button once again so that the FINAL in-
dicator goes out; the Automatic Finalization will not occur imode

3 When playback of the source is started, the All-
track synchro recording starts.
4 When the source playback standby continues for
more than 1 minute during an ALL-TRACK
SYNCHRO RECORDING, the recorder assumes
that the recording has stopped and finalization
starts automatically.
@ The finalize-standby mode can be canceled by pressing the stop
{m) button or FINALIZE button while the unit is in the finalize-
standby mode
# Operating buttons do not respond when finalization has begun
Never turn off the power during finalization!
@ Operation stops automatically without performing finalization
when no more recording time remains or when there are 99 or
more tracks.
