Example: To set the sleep timer to turn off
the system 30 minutes from now.

USING THE FUNCTION TIMER
<To Cancel Timer Operation>
@) During timer playback/recording, or during opera-
tion of the timer, press the TIMER REC / WAKE UP
button to select the timer function you wish to can-
cel.
@ After selecting the timer function to cancel, press
the TIMER REC /WAKE UP button.
The display will show [OFF] and the playback/record-
ing or timer operation will stop.
@ The timer contents, however, will remain stored in
memory, and can be activated later if desired.
<To Reactivate a Timer Setting>
With power turned off (standby mode), press the TIMER
REC / WAKE UP button. Each time the button is pressed,
the timer setting mode changes as follows; select the
one you wish to activate.

When a timer mode has been activated, that mode's
contents are shown on the display.
When this timer function is activated, the selected func-
tion will operate for the set time, after which power will
be automatically turned off.
Press the SLEEP button.
Each time the button is pressed, the sleep time changes
in the following order:
AUTO ———» 90 ———» 60 ——~» 30

After a sleep timer setting has been selected (the sleep
timer setting is decremented as time goes by), you may
press the SLEEP button once to display the current re-
maining time on the timer. If the button is pressed twice,
the set time will be changed.
m AUTO (AUTOSLEEP)
If the SLEEP button is pressed and the function set
to AUTO during CD play, or tape playback or record-
ing, the unit will automatically stop and power will
be turned off when disc playback ends (in the case
of a CD), or when the playback or recording of side
B ends (in the case of cassette tape).
NOTE:
AUTO SLEEP cannot be selected during CD repeat play-
back modes.
