USING THE FUNCTION TIMER
Unattended Timer Recording
This function allow you to automatically record FM/
AM broadcasts at the time set on the timer.
This function cannot be used if the current time has
not been set.
Be sure to set the current time first.
During unattended timer recording, no sound will
be produced from the speakers (sound volume is
automatically set to minimum).
When unattended timer recording is activated, it op-
erates one time, and the timer setting is then can-
celed.
Example: To operate from 7:30 A.M. to 8:00 A.M.
1, Press the EJECT mark, and insert a tape for
recording.
Close the cassette door by hand.
@ NOTE: recording will begin from the forward (>)
direction.
. Press the tuner (FM/AM) function button,
and set the tuner to the desired broadcast
station.
. Press the TIMER REC/WAKE
UP button.
Press the fast forward or fast reverse button.
Press the TIMER REC/WAKE
UP button.
. Set the time you wish recording to start and
end.
The setting procedure is the same as for WAKE UP
timer operation; see [P. 33], steps 4-6.
. Turn off power.
@ The ©) TIMER and REC indicators will light, com-
pleting the setting process.
NOTES:
If you wish to change the timer contents or if you
make a mistake tn setting, perform the entire set-
ting procedure once again from the beginning.
When the timer is set, if any buttons are pressed
other than those necessary for timer setting, the set-
ting process will be interrupted.
During the setting process, if you press no buttons
or make no settings for a period of about ten sec-
onds, the timer setting will be canceled.
lf Wake Up Timer and Timer Recording are set to
operate consecutively, the end time of the previous
operation must be separated by at least one minute
from the start time of the following operation. If the
two operations are set for the same time, the timer
function will not operate properly.
When timer operation times overlap, the function
set to operate afterward may not operate properly.
Also, if identical starting times are set for Wake Up
and Timer Recording, the operating priority is
Timer Recording, followed by (2) Wake Up Timer.
if the sleep timer is set while the timer is operating,
the earlier of the two OFF times set will operate first.
