VARIOUS OPERATIONS OF THE CD PLAYER
Best Selection Memory
@ Asimple way to store your favorite tracks in memory
for future playback is to press the BEST button dur-
ing playback of the tracks. Up to 25 tracks can be
stored in the "best memory."
To store the currently playing track in the "best
memory," press the BEST button.
The BEST indicator will flash and the disc number and
track number will be stored in memory.
m@ To play a track stored in the "best memory."
While the unit is stopped, press the BEST button. The
BEST indicator lights. The tracks are played back be-
ginning with the most recently stored track number.

if the CLEAR button is pressed during best collec-
tion playback, the currently playing track will be can-
celed from the "best memory."
@
During playback in the best selection mode, the BEST
button cannot be used to store tracks.
@ The best selection memory is maintained even when
the power is turned off (standby mode).
@
|fthe BEST button is pressed to store a track when
the memory already holds 25 tracks, the oldest track
in memory will be erased and replaced by the cur-
rently selected track.
@ With this function, discs are scanned in order, be-
ginning with the most recently played disc, thus al-
lowing you to find a desired disc.
@
A maximum
of 25 discs are memorized. When 25
discs are exceeded, the oldest discs are canceled
from memory.
Example:
When you have played discs in the order 1,
2,9, 12, and 13:
During playback, pressing the PREVIOUS
button will result in the following:
The discs will be scanned in the order 13, 12, 9, 2, and
1. During scanning, the first track of each disc will be
played back for ten seconds, beginning from a point
about one minute from the start of the track.
When you find the disc you wish to listen to:
Press the START button.
@ The previous disc scan mode is canceled and play-
back begins on the selected disc.
@ To cancel the previous disc scan mode, press the
stop button.
@
Discs played with the random playback, program
play, best selection memory, or hi-lite scan modes
are not included in the previous disc scan.
@
lf the first track of a disc has a playing time of less
than one minute, the first ten seconds of the track
will be scanned. If the first track's playing time is
less than ten seconds, the entire track will be played.
