TUNING INTO STATIONS
@ Be sure to connect the antennas.
@
Do not place the AM antenna on a metallic case in-
cluding the receiver cabinet or near a CD player, LD
player, DAT recorder, personal computer or TV set.
Any of these installations will cause noise in recep-
tion.
1. Press the tuner (FM/AM) function button.

Select the AM or FM broadcasting band.
Each time the button is pressed the broadcast band
changes in the following order:

When using the remote control unit:

2. Use the fast forward and fast reverse
buttons to set to he reception frequency
desired.
@ Manual tuning:
Press the button quickly and release; the fre-
quency will change in individual steps.
@ Auto tuning:
Press the button for 1-2 seconds, and release
when the frequency display begins changing; the
frequency will change automatically until a sta-
tion is found.
@ High-speed manual tuning:
Hold the button depressed continuously and the
frequency will change continuously. Release the
button when the desired frequency is reached.
When Excessive Noise is Present in
Stereo Broadcasts
When attempting to tune in a distant station, or in re-
gions where radio waves are weak, reception of stereo
broadcasts may be accompanied
by large levels of
noise. In this case, press the MONO button. The recep-
tion mode will change to monaural (the MONO indica-
tor will light), but the level of noise will be reduced,
When the MONO
indicator is lighted, broadcasts can-
not be received in stereo.
When
the remote control
unit's MONO
button is
pressed, the mode changes in the following order:
