7.2.2. Checking the Lights and
Horn
Make sure your lights and horn are functioning properly before each
use.
If a unit under inspection does not react when the corresponding
button on the control panel is pushed, please notify your qualified
mobility dealer immediately and ensure the wheelchair is not being
used.

7.2.3. Inspection of Tires

Before embarking on any journey, check that the tires are in good
condition. Carry out a regular check of the tread depth of the tires
once a month. This should be at least 1 mm.
Any faulty or worn out tires must be changed through the specialist
retailer.

7.3. Batteries

Your wheelchair is equipped with maintenance-free gel batteries
whose fluid level doesn't need to be checked and which are
electronically protected against total discharge.
Should your wheelchair not be used for a longer time, it should be
connected to the charging unit every 2 months; otherwise a total
discharge could destroy the batteries.
Before driving off, just look at the battery status display on your
control panel to check the charging status of your batteries. If only
the red LEDs light up in the battery status display, then you shouldn't
drive for longer distances but connect the wheelchair to the charging
unit immediately.
We recommend connecting the charging unit after every use.

Only use an approved charger to charge the batte-
ries (see technical data). Please also follow the ope-
rating instructions for the charger!

7.3.1. Charging Procedure

Only use approved chargers to charge the batteries (type in
accordance with the technical data or as delivered by the Bischoff &
Bischoff dealer Fig. 27).
Please also follow the operating instructions for the charger!
Do not charge frozen batteries.
The batteries must be charged when the temperature is between 0°
and 40°C.
When using the scooter for the very first time, we recommend driving
until just 3 bars are visible in the display (see Chapter 6.1) and
recharge the batteries at that point.
In the event that this charge level is displayed, you should recharge
the batteries as soon as possible in order to avoid deep discharge.
Recharging requires approx. 12 - 16 hours.
When using the product after that, you can recharge the batteries at
any battery charge level.
You can interrupt the charging procedure even if the batteries are not
fully charged, if you need to continue driving, for example.
But where possible, always charge to 100% so that you have the
greatest range.
Charging batteries:
First switch the scooter off.
Before you start using the charger, check that the power supply is
230 V.
Connect the charger with the charging socket of the scooter (Fig.
28) and then to the power socket (230 V).
The charging socket is located on the side below the control unit
(Fig. 29).
