It is essential that you use ramps to get over obstacles. If it should
be necessary to lift the Ejoy over an obstacle, then only do this
without an occupant. Only use fixed frame parts to lift the chair.
Avoid driving into obstacles without braking (furniture, steps or
similar items).
The control unit must always be switched off whenever you are
getting in or out of the chair.
When on roads, observe the road traffic regulations.
The lighting and reflectors on the wheelchair must always be visible
to other road users.
Where possible, wear bright conspicuous clothes. You will then be
seen better by other road users.
Please note that upholstery parts which are subject to sunlight
will heat up and could cause skin injury when touched. You should
therefore cover these parts or protect the wheelchair from direct
sunlight.
The seating upholstery and pads' materials meet the flammability
resistance requirements in accordance with EN 1021-2. Therefore
do not expose the upholstery or pads or any other parts to ignition
sources - such as, for example, cigarettes.
Always put the seat and backrest into an upright position when you
are driving the wheelchair.
Use on slopes is only permitted when the seat and backrest are in
an upright position.
At low ambient temperatures, the metal parts of the wheelchair can
get very cold, so please avoid skin contact if this is the case.
If you should notice your electric wheelchair behaving unusually or
if it is damaged, stop using it and contact your dealer.
Reporting incidents:
If you, as the operator, user or their relatives, detect possible
defects or functional limitations, please contact an authorised dealer
immediately. Operators, users or their relatives should inform the
dealer who supplied the dealer who provided you with the product of
any suspected serious incidents which directly or indirectly have had
48
or could have one of the following and by which they are affected.
You can also report this to the competent higher federal authority
report
- the death of a patient, user or other person,
- the temporary or permanent serious deterioration of the health
of the state of health of a patient, user or other persons,
- a serious risk to public health.
Please note that operating the wheelchair in push
mode by uncoupling the drive mechanism will deac-
tivate the electromagnetic brakes. The wheelchair
should therefore only be used on level ground in this
mode. Non-observance may lead to life-threatening
situations.

2.2. Safety in Vehicles

The Ejoy is not designed to be used as a vehicle seat. Under
no circumstances may it be used as such. It does not fulfil the
requirements in compliance with ISO 7176-19. Violation can cause
the most serious injuries resulting in death in the case of an accident
(Fig. A).
2.3. Advice Regarding EMC
Interference
Despite meeting all applicable EMC guidelines and standards it is
possible that the wheelchair will experience interference from other
electrical devices (e.g. cell phones) or interfere with these. Should
you notice such interference, either turn off the other device or your
electric wheelchair and move it outside the interference range.
