7. Maintenance Tips for Users

7.1. Cleaning and Disinfection

Cleaning
Make sure that the electric wheelchair is switched off before you start
cleaning.
The frame parts and casings can be wiped with a damp cloth.
If there is heavy contamination, you can use a mild household
cleaner.
The wheels can be cleaned with a damp brush with plastic bristles
(do not use a wire brush!).
You can clean dust and minor contamination from your seat,
backrest and armrests with a damp cloth. Do not use any aggressive
cleaners as these could damage the surface of the material. The
upholstery can be washed with 40 °C warm water.
Make sure that electrical or electronic components do not come
into contact with water!
Disinfection
Before disinfection clean the foldable electric wheelchair thoroughly
in accordance with the instructions:
Use a household disinfectant for wipe-down disinfection.
Spray the upholstery/pads and handles as appropriate.

7.2. Check Before Use

Warning!

abnormally or eratically.

7.2.1. Brake Inspection

Make sure your brakes are operating properly before each use.
Carefully drive off and then release the joystick, the wheelchair must
come to a standstill as usual.
When stopped, the mechanical brakes must engage with an audible
click. Should you notice any unusual braking behavior, please notify
your qualified mobility dealer right away and ensure the wheelchair is
not being used.
The motor brake is functioning correctly if you can't push the
wheelchair when it is turned off.
Should you nevertheless be able to do so, then the electro-magnetic
brakes are defective. In this case you may no longer use the
wheelchair. Contact your qualified mobility dealer immediately.
